Housing

Chapman University offers a variety of options for student housing. For all the incoming students, it is required to live in one of the residence halls in so-called the Fenestra Living Learning Communities which is assigned based on one’s major. Each residence hall typically has a study room with a TV lounge, laundry, and dryer on each floor. Besides incoming students, Resident Advisors, known as RAs, also live in each side of the building on each floor who are responsible dormitory leaders to supervise first-year students and a familiar resource with academic and institutional questions. Residence halls are not only a place to study or sleep. You can also get involved and meet new people. Almost every week, a Fenestra Community Advisor is present usually in the lobby, who gives you general advise or academic help. RAs also occasionally host an event in the dorm including cooking, a competition by floor or room, study break before midterms, and more.

Once you finish your first year at Chapman, you will be eligible for both on-campus and off-campus housing options. At the end of your freshman year, you will fill out a housing application which gives you an option which Chapman-owned apartment you would like to live in for the next year. Application and selection processes take place in April. Room options vary depending on apartments, but a single, double, triple, or quad rooms would be an option you could select from. There are 7 apartments in total at Chapman and each offers different amenities. For instance, Chapman Grand, located in Anaheim, has a swimming pool, fitness center, built-in grills, and patio area. Since some of them are located off-campus, Chapman provides a shuttle service that connects those apartments to the main campus in Orange throughout day and night.
